Our Vision
Faith Tabernacle’s vision is to develop spiritually mature Christians for leadership in the Body of Christ (the Church) through evangelism, Biblical instruction and living examples. Our Mission Faith Tabernacle’s mission is to take the Gospel message into our community. To bring in (Evangelize) “Come see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.” (John 4:29-30 KJV) To build up (Equip through the Word of God) “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”(Ephesians 4:12-16 KJV) To send forth in Christ. (Outreach) “After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. (Luke 10:1-3 KJV) We strive to be a Moral and Spiritual example as the Body of Jesus Christ for families and individuals. Also, to be a Spiritual refuge for the community, and to be part of the solution that continues to reunite the Body of Christ and to restore family values within our community. |
Our Founding Pastors |
Our Founding Joint-Senior Pastors Dr. Floyd R. Beecham, Sr. and Dr. E. Mae Beecham have been active in Christian ministry for over 30 years. In 1987 they co-founded and continue to co-pastor Faith Tabernacle in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
As pastors, it is their commitment to be lights shining in darkness, to develop Spiritually mature Christians that will be a force against the enemy’s kingdom and that will be faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their vision is to spread the Gospel of Jesus, to demonstrate the love of Christ. To speak the truth in love, to utilize the gifts of the body until the whole body is fitly joined together in unity with the love and knowledge of God through His Son Jesus Christ. Dr. Floyd’s background aside from ministry is in business administration, computer technology, and real estate/construction. He holds a Masters degree in Christian Education and a Ph.D in Theology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. Dr. Floyd, transitioned to be with the Lord, March 3, 2018. Dr. Mae’s background aside from ministry is in education, human relations and is a retiree from Hennepin Technical College where she worked as a Student Advisor & Counselor for 25 years. She holds a Masters degree in Christian Psychology and a Ph.D in Religious Philosophy in Christian Psychology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. As a result of their life experiences and labors in ministry in the inner city, they came to the conviction that the basic human needs and underlying causes of individuals and families must be identified and addressed by the Body of Christ (the church) before we gain their trust and attention to hear the good news about Jesus Christ. |
Our History |
On October 25, 1987, a group of Christian believers came together to embrace a ministry Fisher-Harvester Ministries, Inc. that is known as Faith Tabernacle Gospel Church of Minnesota. Under the direction of the Holy Ghost the Pastors Dr. Floyd R. Beecham, Sr. and Dr. E. Mae Beecham, along with a group of nineteen committed members held our first church service on Sunday, October 28, 1987. With this very humble beginning, this group of Christian believers gathered each week to conduct services in the home of Elder Abel V. Davison and Dr. Jewelean Davison, located in South Minneapolis. Faith Tabernacle remained at this location for four years and as the family grew, the Pastors and the members continuously prayed and looked for a permanent church home that would accommodate the church’s growing needs. As they were led by the Spirit of God, the Pastors were able to rent a larger facility located at 1818 Fourth Avenue South in Minneapolis. On November 1, 1991, the Faith Tabernacle Gospel Church family moved into this new location. Once again, after a period of two years, God moved in a mighty way and the Faith Tabernacle family’s dream became a reality when they were presented with an opportunity to purchase their own building. On September 1, 1993, through sacrificial giving of its members, prayers and financial support of friends, and thirteen urban and suburban churches, the building located at 2025 Fourth Street North in Minneapolis was purchased. After a month of cleaning, scrubbing, painting, minor construction and maintenance, a bingo hall was converted into our sanctuary and a bar room was converted into our fellowship hall. The building was now ready for occupancy and the Faith Tabernacle family moved. On October 3, 1993, our first worship service was conducted in our new home. On July 9, 1994, Faith Tabernacle began sponsoring the Hawthorne Neighborhood Carnival as a means of outreach and demonstration of the love of God to the community. Faith Tabernacle hosted the last carnival in July of 2004. In December 1995, our Pastors Dr. Floyd R. Beecham, Sr., and Dr. E. Mae Beecham founded, Urban Hope Ministries, Inc. a Minnesota nonprofit corporation to work in collaboration with Faith Tabernacle and other churches through the community to address the increasing number of requests coming to them from individuals in the community for help. Through this collaboration, Faith Tabernacle is able to match the underlying cause of needs families and Individuals have with existing resources. Urban Hope Ministries Inc’s offices were located in Faith Tabernacle’s building until it relocated in November 1998. In November 1996, Faith Tabernacle as founding member of United Fellowship of Churches began in partnership with several churches a monthly joint worship service which became known as “First Friday”. The “First Friday” services were suspended in 2006. During the year of 1997, Faith Tabernacle Gospel Church in collaboration with Urban Hope Ministries became host to its Community Education “Computer Laboratory”. In 2002 Faith Tabernacle began its Mission to Africa to help create a better and stronger community for the people in Liberia. Each year Faith Tabernacle gathers and ships several barrels of products; which include medical supplies, healthcare, non-perishable food, clothing, and essential supplies for men, women and children suffering in poverty. In 2003, Faith Tabernacle began its Mission to Haiti to provide food, clothing, medicines, school supplies and materials for Christian education to destitute orphan children in order to restore their physical lives and provide hope with love. In 2006 the church amended it corporate charter to officially change its name from Fisher Harvester Ministries, Inc., dba Faith Tabernacle Gospel Church of Minnesota to Faith Tabernacle Gospel Fellowship International. In the past 30 years the fellowship has grown. We continue to strive to be a Moral and Spiritual example as the Body of Jesus Christ for families and individuals. Also, to be a Spiritual refuge for the community, and to be part of the solution that continues to reunite the Body of Christ and to restore family values within our communities. On March 3, 2018, Dr. Floyd transitioned with the Lord. Upon her husband of 55 years, untimely passing, Dr. Mae, will continue as Senior Pastor of Faith Tabernacle Gospel Fellowship International. |
